Every Saturday afternoon it seems football is shrouded in new controversy – players diving, abusing match officials, or wasting time feigning injury.
But it’s often said that rugby league on the other hand is a game played by extraordinary players who do extraordinary things.
To celebrate everything great about rugby league and to capture a wider audience in time for the play offs, the Rugby Football League (RFL) launched a campaign called The Rugby League of The Extraordinary.
Although the timing of the ad may be slightly odd what with World Cup Year coming up in 2013, there is plenty to enjoy about it.
A player from each of the eight teams who made it through in to the play-offs are represented including Sam Tomkins dodging great balls of fire, Eorl Crabtree shoving a skip, and James Roby doing pull-ups with chains around his waist.
Too often the extraordinary deeds of these elite athletes and sometime skip-shovers goes unnoticed – so sit back and appreciate. And maybe some of these footballers can man up too.
