Last summer a number of iconic busts were stolen from Budapest’s Margaret Island. Seizing the moment, Lego Budapest alongside Young & Rubicam Budapest, decided to take on the challenge and reconstruct the busts using Lego bricks. The results merit the recognition of true artists.
This a fantastic example of street marketing and it just goes to show that with a little bit of imagination (and a fair deal of Lego engineering know-how), Lego bricks can go a long way. They are more than a toy and can be used for more sophisticated creative purposes, a message that more than likely appeals to a country whose past and present is brimming with an artistic spirit. It’s also a wonderful opportunity to give back to the community and pay homage to the city.
